Cheese Table Fashion
In recent years, we have seen a growing trend in the world of gastronomy: the cheese table trend. This phenomenon, which began in small events and private celebrations, has expanded rapidly and is now being integrated into the culinary offerings of hotels around the world. But what exactly is a cheese board and why has it captured the attention of gourmets and travelers alike?
What is a Cheese Table? A cheese board, also known as a cheese board, is a carefully curated selection of different types of cheeses, accompanied by a variety of complements such as fruits, nuts, jams, breads and pates. The key to a good cheese table lies in the diversity of flavors, textures and colors, creating a complete sensory experience.
The Appeal of Cheese Tables Variety and Versatility. One of the main reasons for the success of cheese tables is the immense variety they offer. From soft and creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert, to hard and tangy cheeses like Parmesan and Roquefort, there is something for everyone's tastes. Furthermore, they can be adapted to different themes and occasions, from casual events to elegant dinners. Benidorm has a glorious Mediterranean climate, making it a paradise for sun lovers even in November. With average temperatures around 20Ā°, you can bask in the warm rays of the sun while resting on its fabulous sandy beaches. The quieter Poniente Beach and the busier Levante Beach offer you endless emotions.
Sensory Experience. Cheese tables are not only a delight for the palate, but also for the sight and smell. The combination of vibrant colors of the fruits and sausages, along with the different shades and shapes of the cheeses, creates a visually attractive presentation. The aromas of the cheeses, some mild and others more intense, also play a crucial role in the gastronomic experience.
Integration into Hotels. Recognizing the popularity of cheese tables, many hotels have begun to integrate them into their dining offerings. Whether as part of breakfast buffets, gala buffets or at special events or as an option in room service, cheese boards have become a key element in attracting lovers of good food.
Our Proposal at Hotel Avenida. At Hotel Avenida, we are committed to offering unforgettable gastronomic experiences to our guests. That is why every week we organize our exclusive cheese table, where we present a selection of more than 15 types of cheeses from various regions, accompanied by a variety of jams, pĆ¢tĆ©s and nuts.
Our cheese table is not only a feast for the palate, but also a celebration of the richness and diversity of this wonderful product. We invite our guests to discover new flavors, enjoy surprising combinations and share special moments in an elegant and welcoming atmosphere.

SAN BLAS BUN
We have started February and it is a month that we, in Benidorm, particularly love for various reasons. It is the month where our fields and mountains are filled with blossoming almond trees and venturing to explore the interior of the Marina Baixa, is quite a spectacle. Admire the bloom; those different shades of pink and white; observe how bees pollinate flowers; feel how spring is slowly making its way... Did you know that there is a whole popular and mythological tradition of stories around the almond blossom? Well, we are not going to get ahead of ourselves and we will tell you more in detail in future publications.
Another of the reasons why we like February is that it is time to cook one of our traditional and typical Benidorm sweets. The first week of February, specifically on the 3rd, we celebrate San Blas and in honor of this saint in Benidorm so we get into the kitchen and make our traditional "Bollo de San Blas". Do you know how to prepare it? If not, it is very simple! We leave you the recipe and surely you will be able to make some delicious buns. If you walk through the center of Benidorm these days you will find the air filled with the smell of cinnamon and almond coming out of the kitchens. It is a very simple recipe that you can make at any time and a piece of advice: let the little ones in the house help out, you will have a very fun and entertaining time together!
SAN BLAS BUN RECIPE.

TIME: 5 min. preparation + 20 min. In the owen

5. Ready to eat!
FALLAS 2022
The fallas were imported to Benidorm from Valencia from where they originate. The first festive commission in Benidorm was created 45 years ago. The commission of the Center, Els Tolls and RincĆ³n de Loix are the groups that organize this festival in our town.
The celebration is organized around the week of March 14 to 20, highlighting as the most important acts the "plantĆ " (or installation of papier-mĆ¢chĆ© monuments) and the offering of flowers together with the "crema" (when we set fire on the monuments on the night of March 19.)
The origin of the festivities, according to the traditions, was due to the carpenters who burned, on the eve of the day of their patron saint, Saint Joseph, the shavings and old junk left over from the workshops before spring came.
Over time the "Fallas" have evolved in the representation of scenes of daily life, generally political aspects and the social and cultural world, made in papier-mache monuments and whose protagonists are ninots (dolls). Every year one of the ninots is pardoned and saved from burning.
Below find attached the 2022 program for the FALLAS
BENIDORM FEST 2022
Do you already have your favorite song? You can follow all the details and songs participating in the festival through the following link
Here, you can listen to the fourteen songs that compete to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. We already have our favorite!
The presenters of the semifinals and the final will be Alaska, MƔximo Huerta and InƩs Hernand and they can be followed live on TVE 1 and RTVE Play during prime time.
As you probably know, our city has experience in organizing festivals of this nature. It was around the end of the 1950s, when the then mayor, D. Pedro Zaragoza, together with a group of journalists, had the idea of āāholding a song festival in the style of what was being done inĀ San Remo.
In the first editions from 1959 to 1971 it had a very curious mechanic: the song was defended by two artists or groups. Among them, we can find a very young Raphael, the Dynamic Duo, Bruno Lomas, Karina, Dyango and even Julio Iglesias himself! Who was the winner of the 1968 edition with his song "Life is still the same." Other famous songs from that time were āComunicandoā, āLlevanā but if you want to get a great idea of āāwhat that time were like, look on YouTube for the āCachitos de Hierro y Cromoā program dedicated to the Benidorm Festival. What a time! By the way, the winners got the trophy called Golden mermaid trophy We leave you an image of one of the advertising posters in this case of the great Mingote.
Starting in the eighties, the festival went into decline, due to the tastes and interests of the public and musical companies, , disappearing totally in 2006. For this reason, we are very happy to once again celebrate a Festival of these characteristics in our city. We hope you enjoy it a lot!

Find time for yourself.
We have faced a difficult year and now we should recover the time to take care of ourselves and give ourselves the occasional special moments. Daily problems and worries keep us from stopping up and reflecting on what really matters. Take a break and for that, what better purpose than to take care of yourself and pamper yourself. The hustle and bustle of everyday life and the daily worries prevent us from stopping for a moment, reflecting and giving each thing the importance it really has. Let's take a breath and get our minds in order!
At the Avenida Hotel and especially in its comfort suites, you will find the ideal place for reflection. A perfect time for a getaway, to reflect over the New Year that is beginning and enjoy this pleasant winter, the beaches of Benidorm and its people.

Meet someone special. What if your purpose for this year is to enjoy a new beginning? It is always a pleasure to meet new people who come into our lives, contributing ideas, experiences and ways of seeing the world. We are passionate about learning from others and learning everything positive that they can bring to our lives.
For this, what better place than our city of Benidorm where people come and goes, our home and the home of many of our friends who visit us throughout the year.
Learn something new.
How many times have we all proposed to start with a new language or sport? Without a doubt, these are some of the most repeated New Year's promises every year. And it is that knowledge does not take place and it is always nice to start that challenge of learning new things, why not starting golf classes or why not take that diving course that gives you the opportunity to explore the depths of our Island of Benidorm.
Spend time on your hobbies.
Our Hobbies mark our personality. Developing them and finding a space for them enjoying moments of disconnection will help us improve our self-esteem and well-being. There is time for everything! Is hiking your passion? It is also one of our main hobbies and at Marenysol Hotels we offer the best hiking routes very close to our establishments, so that from the maximum comfort you can undertake exciting adventures in the middle of nature. BENIDORM AND SURROUNDINGS
On this occasion, we want to propose you to combine hiking with an archaeological route. At the end of Poniente Beach we find a āTossalā or hill in Spanish where there are the remains of a Roman settlement occupied by the armies of Quinto Sertorio during the Sertorian Wars. Quinto Sertorio was a prominent Roman general and politician of the final period of the Roman Republic, famous for the movement against the dictator Sila that he led in Hispania.
If we go up the hill, we can appreciate the wall, and in it we can see the different rooms and the structure of the found materials. The wall shows us the presence of Roman soldiers and confirms, without a doubt, that the āTossal de la Calaā was a fort or 'castellum' ordered to be built by General Sertorio within a fortification plan on the north coast of Alicante, probably around the year 77 a. C.
The "Tossal de la Cala" was part of a Roman chain of coastal military enclaves located in the regions of Marina Alta and Baixa; all located on cliffs and coves that are difficult to access and they fulfilled a fundamental role: to control the maritime routes of the boats and to warn of possible enemies arriving by sea.
The visit is very pleasant and easily accessible, recommending, in addition to the explanations of the place made by the Benidorm City Council guides, to enjoy the unbeatable views of our skyline. They are fantastic!
The 'castellum' has been museumized in different phases and has guided tours that are held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The visits can be reserved in the following email account patrimonihistoric@benidorm.org . You will surely enjoy the place as much as we did!
OCTOBER 9. THE "MOCADORĆ"
A long time ago, back in the year 1238 there was a king named Jaume I called āThe Conquerorā King of Aragon and the Principality of Catalonia. In that year, he made it his goal to conquer the lands south of his kingdom. Those lands were the Valencia region. On the day of San DionĆs, October 9, 1238, he entered Valencia and conquered its territory. Since that day, we have celebrated this with a great festival and firecrackers, eventually becoming a very popular festival throughout the land.
We tell you that we celebrate it twice because in the 17th century, after the War of Succession and with the victory of the Bourbon Felipe V, the Nueva Planta Decrees prohibited the celebration of the entry of Jaime I into Valencia. So the confectioners, in response to the ban, decided to make candies shaped like the forbidden firecrackers. A custom began then that has been maintained to this day. These sweets, in addition to copying the firecrackers also represented the fruits and vegetables from the gardens of Valencia.
These fruits were wrapped in a handkerchief (mocador in Valencian) and were a gift for the beloved woman. Over time, the handkerchief (mocador) gave its name to the festival: āla mocadorĆ ā. It has even got further, as since a long time back, it is a tradition throughout the Valencia Community to give the āmocadorĆ ā to the loved one on Valentineās Day.
Well, you know, if you are in the area and want to surprise your partner with typical products, do not hesitate! They are really good!
GALAXIA HUNG2. EXPLOSION OF COLORS IN THE STREETS OF BENIDORM.
Until September 2021 we can enjoy the āHung Galaxyā outdoor exhibition. The author, Hung Yi, is considered one of the most representative artists of the East and his works are a burst of colour with hints of surrealism.
The sculptures have been placed in different areas of the centre of Benidorm, filling the Mediterranean city with multicoloured animals related to the Chinese New Year under the surreal and dreamlike gaze with which Hung Yi gives his figures. In fact, several of them are located on the same Gambo Street where our Avenida Apartments and Avenida Hotel is located, the rest of the sculptures are no further than 5 minutes walking and about 100 m from the Levante Beach.
The sculptor selects the materials and the shape of his sculptures paying rigorous attention to detail. His works are subjected to multiple processes, including welding, forging, polishing and enamelling, to finally create very familiar representations, but at the same time distorted to suggest shapes and movements far from the real world. The sculptures weigh between 200 and 1,400 kilos. Among them, two swans, situated just in front of the Benidorm Town hall, weighing more than thousand kilos and with a height of seven meters. If you have the opportunity, do not hesitate to enjoy this wonders!

SAVING ENERGY IN YOUR HOTEL IN A QUICK AND EASY WAY
Saving energy has been, by far, one of the main goals of businesses and commercial establishments that want to operate efficiently and profitably without compromising the quality of service they offer to their customers. It does not happen only with electricity, but also with products such as Movistar's ADSL and Orange's ADSL service, for which it is necessary to maintain adequate coverage, an optimal connection speed and rates capable of allowing the owners of commercial establishments provide quality customer service.
The truth is that, in the case of businesses in the hotel sector, both electricity and the internet are usually a sensitive issue because both services are paid based on their consumption or, rather, based on consumption habits. For example, in the case of electricity, it is paid according to the number of kW consumed in a period of time and the unit cost is set according to the rate chosen by the establishment.
Therefore, it is important that businesses such as hostels and hotels where they cannot interrupt their services to their clients, find methods capable of allowing them to save their consumption in an easy and hassle-free way.
IF YOU OFFER INTERNET VIA ADSL YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SAVE ON ENERGY AND INTERNET CONSUMPTION
Avoiding issuing the internet connection signal in all the spaces of your hotel and only locating some specific spaces to allow your clients to connect is an effective way to reduce data consumption that will allow them to enjoy this service without the need to overdo it.
Generally, this type of areas or spaces with an internet connection is usually available with a Wi-Fi connection so that users can connect freely using their smartphone, computer or tablet. In addition, they are usually common places such as the reception, the restaurant, the pool area or the meeting rooms.
But before you do, remember:
- Evaluate the hotel area that you will enable for this purpose
- Define a time plan so that the savings are effective
- Evaluate changes based on the satisfaction of your guests
USE PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY
Placing some photovoltaic panels to supply power to your hotel's electrical circuits and internet connection systems can be one of the most efficient ways to save energy.
It is not necessary that, in the first place, your hotel is completely supplied with solar energy. You can only do it with the appliances that consume the least amount of electricity and, although you consider that there will be no difference, surely when you receive your next electricity bill, you will notice it.
WHERE CAN I FIND MORE METHODS TO SAVE ENERGY IN MY HOTEL?
Additionally, you need to try to install some monitoring systems to measure the energy consumption level of your hotel. In this way, it will be easier to make any kind of decision about it. This is because not all the existing methods to reduce your energy consumption can be really viable depending on the operation of your hotel.
However, here you will find some other useful tips that will surely help you to make your hotel a more friendly place with the planet and, of course, also with your pocket.
BENIDORM AND THE CINEMA. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Good morning Benilovers! Well, yes, Benidormās relationship with cinema has been a crush at first sight: filming, actors, actresses, directors, technical teams ā¦ all of them have passed through our city falling surrendered to the light, beaches and the wonderful sea.
Right now in Benidorm, we are experiencing a āsecond youthā in relation to filming movies, series and advertising spots. And all this due to the marvelous work that the āBenidorm Film Officeā does in providing the location of exteriors and stages to be able to make these films.
Did you know that the director Isabel Coixet was filming her latest film āSnow in Benidormāthis month? Film produced by the AlmodĆ³var brothers participating with their production company āEl Deseoā. In her main roles we will have Carmen Machi, Ana Torrent and Pedro Casablanc. They were even staying one day at our Hotel Avenida where they were the makeup team worked hard and some of the actors had a room to rest in between shoots. We are looking forward the premiere! But not only has Isabel Coixet visited us, Secun de la Rosa, is filming her first film, āEl coverā in Benidorm. Secun de la Rosa is a great theatrical author as well as an actor, who has participated in such important series as āAidaā and āAmar es para siempreā(Love is forever). We can also tell you that the director Julia de Paz is accompanying us through the streets of Benidorm, preparing her long āAmaā and the entire cast of the new A3 media serie āBenidormā that surely will be be a success. As you probably know since 2007. the British production company Tiger Aspect Productions for ITV Channel TV is also filming the very successful serie Benidorm in the area of Rincon the Loix. We have also been the scene of various video clips, fashion reports, commercials and much more lately.
I suppose you are wondering if the filmmakers recently discovered Benidorm. Not at all, already in 1951 the director Juan de OrduƱa in his film āAlba de AmĆ©ricaā used La Cala de Finestrat simulating the island of Santo Domingo where Christopher Columbus arrived. And from there, the boom; āA kiss on the bridgeā with Manolo Escobar, āThe decentā with Alfredo Landa and Concha Velasco, Bigas Luna in āEggs of Goldā with Javier Bardem and Maribel VerdĆŗ. Paz Vega in āFugitiveā Even more recently Natalia Verbeke in āAirtimeā and Ana de Armas in āThe Alleyā have used our locations and those of the surrounding towns such as Altea or La Vila Joiosa to shoot their films. We are proud of it and of course even more proud of one of our most glamorous citizens: Cristina Rodriguez costume designer for series like āEliteā. Great Ambassador of our city! Sometimes when we walk through the streets we like to imagine what places have been the scene of a movie, video clip or series. You canāt imagine how the area can be changed with a different light or decoration!.
HOUSEKEEPING TRICKS FOR YOUR HOME
We are going to comment on some of its tricks that you can apply in your homes. You sure will to love them! First of all, we start to plan the cleaning of the room to know the order to clean it in. We always start with one area and move on to the next area of the room, not going back and forward. Always in the same way. Where do you start cleaning? We usually start with the beds and from there we move on to the rest of the areas. Second, it is important to ventilate and allow natural light to always enter. Good ventilation in the house will renew the air and in this way, we can use chemical products without fear of inhaling their substances. Next we clean all the furniture! Not just shelves, television, dressers or side tables. If we have armchairs or chairs in the room, we must also clean them, as over time, they accumulate dust and their fabrics deteriorate. Protect the bed with mattress protector. In this way we will extend the life of our mattress. Also, you can use a top sheet as a bottom sheet. If you pick them up at an angle of 45 degrees, do not doubt that it will catch you and the wake-up moment can be very complicated. Never mix cleaning products and always use those that are the least harmful to the environment.
When you clean the bathroom, make sure to use different rags for each area. Clean the toilet with a red cloth and the other areas, for example, with a blue cloth. In the bathroom, the first place you must clean is the toilet and the bidet since those are the areas where the greatest numbers of germs are concentrated. We hope that these tricks from our maids have been useful and that you can apply them at home.
Another day we tell you some tricks from other departments!.
"GENESIS. SEBASTIAO SALGADO ā. LA CAIXA SOCIAL WORK EXHIBITION
One of the characteristics of Benidorm is its reinvestment capacity; As if it were a living being, it is in constant movement, adapting to the environment, evolving ā¦ That is why we like to walk through its streets, discover new places, shops, restaurants or new places that, in other occasions, we have not seen in our walks.
The most striking discovery this week was the exhibition āGĆ©nesis de Sebastiao Salgadoā located on Gambo Street in Benidorm. It is a breathtaking exhibition that we strongly recommend and that you will be able to enjoy until July 18.
Sebastiao Salgado (Brazil 1944) is one of the best social photographers of the XXI century. In this case, it focuses on the most virgin and intact ecosystems on the planet. In that precious black and white that characterizes him, he manages to show us all the beauty of this planet we call Earth.
His camera focuses on landscapes, animals, and people away from the modern world: large regions, remote areas, virgin forests, where the nature still is intact. All this is captured and displayed in large format photographs, showing the grandiosity of nature where the human being is fragile, representing a small role in large spaces and not that role that we believe to represent.
Ā«A visual ode to the majesty and fragility of the Earth; a warning of everything we run the risk of losing Ā», in the words of the photographer himself. Until 2012, Salgado made a total of 32 trips to carry through the virgin world, with stops in Antarctica, Madagascar, Botswana, the Kafue National Park in Zambia, the Colorado Plateau in the United States, Alaska, the archipelago of the Galapagos in Ecuador, Siberia and the Amazon jungle, among others.
The exhibition, made up of 38 black and white photographs, reveals that part of the world that has been able to escape the influence of modern man. A world, which we have the privilege to inhabit and the obligation to respect and preserve because its beauty is such that we should be proud to offer it as the most important legacy to future generations.
BENIDORM. INTELLIGENT TOURIST DESTINATION (DTI)
Good morning Benilovers! In case you had not read it, we are very excited and proud to tell you that Benidorm has been named the first Smart Tourist Destination (DTI).
Do not you know what a DTI is? We will explain it to you in a moment!. A Smart Tourist Destination is one that follows the rules established in a certain standards; in this case, Standard UNE 178501. An examination is carried out and once approved, which is not easy; the destination is named Smart Tourist Destination. What are those things that Benidorm has had to comply to be DTI? In fulfilling some points that the World Tourism Organization establishes such as the following:
- Technology: Introducing digitized technology (Big Data and mobile applications) in our Tourism offices, we have improved the information we offer to our tourists to be much more personalized and updated. Through this technology, we can absorb knowledge in order to quickly adapt to new needs and trends.
- Innovation: Benidorm has established a competitive intelligence system which has improved the management of content in social networks, as well as the interaction with our tourists.
- Sustainability: Benidorm has opted for a comprehensive management of urban waste as well as a computerized management of the use of water to make it more efficient. Benidorm has invested in an installation of free Wi-Fi access zones in a large part of the municipality. An investment has also been made to provide LED street lighting to save in electricity. Many points of the City has been equipped with chargers for electrical cars.
- Accessibility: The infrastructures of the city have been improved with accessibility for people with reduced mobility in beaches, streets and municipal organizations; more than 100km of bike lanes have been created throughout the municipality and public transport has been expanded.
All this means that Benidorm is committed to increase the quality of the tourists visits as an integral experience, encouraging continuous improvement and improving the relationship between residents and visitors. As you can see, not only hotels must be innovative; the destination in itself, has to be able to offer avant-garde services, which are sustainable and do not harm our environment, making it a destination accessible to all our visitors and promoting interaction with the environment, with the final aim of making you feel loved and at home in our city.
At Mareny Sol Hotels we have been adapting to those needs that our clients demand by applying new technologies and introducing new menus adapted to new eating habits.
For example, at the Hotel Avenida we have opted to renew the facilities of our gym, thinking that even if we are on vacation, we should try to take those minutes that the specialists recommend for physical activity. That not everything is going to be beer and beach! We have a stationary bike, elliptical trainer, a treadmill, weights and much more ... everything to be able to do that exercise that allows us to burn those extra calories that we sometimes take on vacation. We know that the buffet is very dangerous!
And of course, with this magnificent autumn temperature, it doesn't hurt that we not only use the gym at our hotel, but also go out to enjoy the great possibilities that Benidorm offers us for outdoor activities; Enjoy its incredible beaches , its theme parks, the great infrastructures that we have to perform any type of sport , whether nautical such as the spectacular Cable ski, diving in our crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean , or land such as hiking or cycling through our mountains Greetings! And happy week!
